PR agency, Stone Junction was presented with four accolades
at this year’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Midlands
PRide awards. To cap a successful ceremony on Friday, October 26 at the
Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham, the Stafford-based agency was
named as the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy in the Midlands.
Stone Junction claimed the silver award for Healthcare Campaign as well as the silver and gold awards for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Campaign before being named the gold winner in the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy category.
The CIPR Midlands PRide 2018 judges stated that Stone Junction was deserving of the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy title because of its energy, enthusiasm and smart business strategy. It’s this strategy that has seen the company increase from a team of six to a team of 17 in the last three years, as well as an average year-on-year growth of roughly 50 per cent since 2011. The company is currently recruiting to fill seven new roles at a variety of levels within the business.
“Stone Junction is constantly moving, learning and advancing,” said Richard Stone, the agency’s founder and managing director. “The progressive attitude of every member of the team means we are continually improving the services we offer our clients within the framework of our business plan, which we developed collaboratively.
“The CIPR PRide awards are a great benchmark of our performance, and this year the competition from other agencies in the Midlands was tougher than ever.
“As a specialist agency, it is especially rewarding to bring home both awards in the STEM Campaign category, as it demonstrates the importance of the capabilities we cultivate in the business. Winning gold in Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy is verification of the hard work and dedication of the team. I am very proud of them.”
The awards were presented to Stone Junction because of the high standard of results generated across several client campaigns, including Renishaw, EU Automation and TM Robotics. These campaigns, while targeting different sectors, shared the common challenge of attaining coverage in various vertical trade media sectors as well as conveying complex messages about advanced technology.
“Stone Junction excels in interpreting the more technical aspects of our robot technology in an engaging and interesting way,” said Nigel Smith, CEO of TM Robotics. “I am not surprised that the campaign the team designed and managed for us across the UK and the US took home the gold award in the STEM Campaign category. The results we have witnessed have been outstanding.”
Based in the centre of Stafford, the agency offers a range of PR services such as media relations, content creation, social media management, search engine optimisation (SEO), photography and design. To find out more, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01785 225416.

Meet the team
Stone Junction is managed by Richard Stone, whose previous experience includes PR campaigns for Arup, AIT Plc, CIENA, Parker Hannifin, Schneider Electric, SIG, SKF, Roche and WorldCom. Well over a decade in technical and technology PR has taught him that he is only just starting out. He is a very slightly geeky father of two who lives in Stafford with his long suffering wife, aforementioned children, dog and cat.
Junction has been going from strength to strength, building up its
client base and championing the achievements of technical and
engineering firms, some of which are in Staffordshire."
