UK giant signs up tech PR firm
One of the UK’s
leading engineering firms has appointed manufacturing PR agency, Stone
Junction, to handle media relations for its 3D printing and additive
manufacturing (AM) division. FTSE listed Renishaw plc, which delivered
record profits and revenue last year, has commissioned a wide range of
services from the team of specialist consultants at Stone Junction..
As well as AM, Renishaw - a global company founded in 1973 by Sir David McMurtry and John Deer - specialises in measurement, motion control, spectroscopy and precision machining. The AM division, based in Stone, Staffordshire, is ideally placed in the 3D printing marketplace, thanks to Renishaw's history of innovation in similar technology and close relationship with users of AM, as the result of its other product offerings.
As well as handling media relations, Stone Junction will also head up an AM blogging campaign in addition to contributing to social media for the engineering firm.
“We’re really looking forward to working with Stone Junction,” commented Chris Pockett, Renishaw's Head of Communications. “We've known of the company for some time and its specialist knowledge, proximity to our AM division and media contacts make for an ideal fit.”
“We’ve worked with the technical and engineering media since we first opened the doors at Stone Junction,” commented Richard Stone, the company's managing director.
“Adding Renishaw to our roster of engineering and manufacturing clients is brilliant, particularly as it gives us the chance to enter the 3D printing and AM debate, something which we have been keen to do for some time.
“Renishaw is an incredibly well developed brand and we are confident that we’ll be able to help the company achieve its goals in the additive manufacturing space,” concluded Stone.

Meet the team
Stone Junction is managed by Richard Stone, whose previous experience includes PR campaigns for Arup, AIT Plc, CIENA, Parker Hannifin, Schneider Electric, SIG, SKF, Roche and WorldCom. Well over a decade in technical and technology PR has taught him that he is only just starting out. He is a very slightly geeky father of two who lives in Stafford with his long suffering wife, aforementioned children, dog and cat.
Junction has been going from strength to strength, building up its
client base and championing the achievements of technical and
engineering firms, some of which are in Staffordshire."
