Stone Junction's STEM student search
~ Technical PR agency to exhibit at Sciences and Engineering Fair ~
Technical PR consultancy, Stone Junction will be exhibiting at Staffordshire University's Sciences and Engineering Careers Fair on November 11. Stone Junction hopes to attract graduates or final year students who want to use their technical or engineering knowledge to be successful in a business career. The company will be on Stand 15 in the Science Centre, located on Staffordshire University's Leek Road campus.
Stone Junction's existing client base consists of businesses
from technical, technology, engineering and IT sectors. The PR
consultancy is hoping to add at least one graduate or professional with
a technical background to its existing team of eight.
"Having graduated with a technical IT degree, I was drawn towards the creative environment in a PR consultancy," explains Zafar Jamati, account executive at Stone Junction. "The variety of day-to-day tasks, such as interviewing engineers, researching the latest industry trends, writing thought-leading content and applying my passion for photography appealed to me most. No two days are the same at Stone Junction.
"It's common for young people to finish a degree with a different view of the career that they initially wanted to go in to. Taking a business-focused position in a creative company is very rewarding. While working at Stone Junction, I'm still applying my technical knowledge on a daily basis, but in a more creative way."
Managing director, Richard Stone will be speaking at the careers fair, discussing the benefits of a career in PR, outlining the key skills you will need to be considered and explaining what students should do to be ready for employment in the sector.

Meet the team
Stone Junction is managed by Richard Stone, whose previous experience includes PR campaigns for Arup, AIT Plc, CIENA, Parker Hannifin, Schneider Electric, SIG, SKF, Roche and WorldCom. Well over a decade in technical and technology PR has taught him that he is only just starting out. He is a very slightly geeky father of two who lives in Stafford with his long suffering wife, aforementioned children, dog and cat.
Junction has been going from strength to strength, building up its
client base and championing the achievements of technical and
engineering firms, some of which are in Staffordshire."
