When power meets PR

ide Systems appoints technical PR agency Stone Junction

A specialist temporary power company headquartered in Cannock has decided to improve its marketing by working with Stone Junction, the technical PR agency. The new appointment is the latest in a series of successes that have made Stone Junction into one of the leading PR agencies in the Midlands, having had only one member of staff just five years ago.

Incorporating ide Systems, ide Online and ide Rental, the company is a well-recognised name in the design, manufacture, sales and hire of customised electrical distribution, equipment and cables for the UK and European markets. It has offices in Glasgow, London and Cannock.

The electrical distribution equipment the company provides is required wherever any power is needed at outdoor events such as festivals, event marquees or construction sites. It is vital that the equipment used is suited to the application, because a power outage can affect an event's reputation or even bring it to a complete stand still.

ide particularly values customer support. Any products that are rented or hired from ide receive support from expert engineers who are on site for the duration of the event.  The company also provides a hotline to ensure that help is available in the event of a loss of power or fault.

“Stone Junction’s technical expertise and wide range of contacts in trade media were two of the key reasons for choosing the business,” explained Matt Collins, business development manager at ide Systems. “The agency has a proven track record of media coverage in our trade sectors, and we know that, by working with Stone Junction, we will be able to expand the reach of the ide brand.”

“What we do is really all about reputation,” opined Richard Stone, managing director of Stone Junction. “But managing reputation for a technical company like ide Systems demands quite a complex toolkit. You need to be able to understand a complex product and service offering, you need to know the best people in the media to share that information with and, most importantly, you need to be able to see through to the heart of the matter and make quick and accurate decisions about what makes a worthwhile story in the first instance.”

Stone Junction is a technical PR agency based in Stafford, and the company works with a range of clients from the engineering, technology and IT sectors. Stone Junction’s core services include media relations, technical copywriting, international public relations, social media, photography, e-mail marketing, SEO and award entries.
